Markup and margin control
To help provide more control over your project profitability we added the ability to control default markup or margin by Cost Type (i.e. labor, material, equipment, subcontractor rate, etc.). Markup and margin can be set at the individual line item or at the job level for estimates and change orders.

Buildertrend Payments
We completely revamped our Payments experience. It’s now built and owned by our team here at Buildertrend, and you don’t have to leave the platform or contact third parties for your payment status. We’ve also changed our pricing to ensure even better rates for our customers, and we eliminated the confusion around ACH pricing by introducing a flat fee. Similarly, we’ve introduced two lower rates for debit and credit card payments that are unheard of in the construction industry.
We improved security and payment speed by eliminating extensive payment holds and adding a built-in risk and fraud mitigation system. Additionally, an improved micro deposit communication and payer checkout experience makes it more intuitive and eliminates the confusion around customers saving their account information.

Job Costing Budget
The new Job Costing Budget is your one-stop shop for seeing a wholistic view of each project’s financial health. We added columns for both job costing and sales tracking, expandable cost code rows to see underlying details and sources of values and added flexibility to use cash or accrual account methods. The Job Costing Budget also works with our QuickBooks Online and Xero integrations, so you can analyze the profit impacts of realized labor, scope changes and unexpected expenses in real time. You can also customize the view and share with your clients through the Customer Portal for enhanced collaboration and cost transparency.

Proposal Worksheet View on Estimates
In the Estimate feature, we merged the Estimate Worksheet with the Build Proposal view to create the new Proposal Worksheet. This updated experience allows you to add, move, edit, and format your line items and categories on a single page without having to go back and forth.
