This product was a game changer for us! In the field and at the office. After using it for a few months, our subcontractors love it so much they will actually ask us “when are you updating info in Buildertrend”. It not only helps us and our clients keep track of the project timeline, it helps our subcontractors keep their schedules together for their own jobs knowing what we are doing at ours. The finishes function allows clients to approve so that there is no “I never picked that” on any project. It allows you to link products and specs and text/comment clients within each selection. The change orders function literally got us paid on over $90K in extras on ONE job because the client had developed a “selective memory”. The client can approve/sign change orders from anywhere in the world, so no excuses for not getting to sign because they are traveling or not at the office. I have used two other products like this and Buildertrend has everything in one spot without costing us $30K per year like some of the other project management tools. Lastly, anytime I’ve had a question or get stuck, the help function has solved things right away. And they DO get back with you quickly! Very impressed! Have used Buildertrend for roughly 7 years. Pros: – Customer support teams are nice, professional and knowledgable. – Platform has most of what you need for running backend of a building or remodeling company. Cons: – Slow to innovate/introduce new features . – Overpriced – Took their market position for granted and now there are better options available. – Lacking company specific customization within the platform. Overall, I would not recommend using Buildertrend. As a builder you will be locked into their platform unless you want to engage in the tedious task of switching your existing clients to a new platform mid project. There are better options and this company doesn’t seem to have your best interests in mind.

Lots of “website maintenance” that means the platform is frequently slow or completely unavailable. You can’t tag or @ mention anyone in the comment section of Daily Logs which is a huge miss. The email or messaging is out dated. Loading times are always a problem. It needs to be revamped.

Just started with BT and am blown away, in a great way, by the product and company Culture. It is so nice to work with happy, solution oriented people. Transitioning to this new product has lots of moving parts for us and communication with BT has been easy, fast, and effective.

Buildertrend University was a great experiences especially for businesses just starting out. The staff was amazing and very friendly. You can tell they care about their clients. Great environment
