The next step for utilizing Buildertrend Takeoff will be to set your scale on your plans. This process is very important to ensure you have accurate measurements for each section of your plans.

First, click on Scale at the top of the page to begin.

In this area, you will be able to set the Measurement Type as well as the page scale method. As a best practice, we recommend setting the scale manually. Relying on the quality of the plans or blueprints could lead to inaccurate measurements.

When manually setting the scale, utilize a measurement over 20 feet if possible. Once your measurement has been updated, then click Start to move to the next step.

Next, pan up by right clicking on your mouse and then zooming in to locate the first point you need to grab. Click the starting point, and then pan over to the end point and click again to set your scale.

Now, the scale of the page has been set. If there were any accidental clicks, you can always repeat the process to reset the scale.

At this point, you have successfully set the scale on your plans.
