Invoices on Mobile

Invoices on Buildertrend's mobile app allow you to manage billing with ease from anywhere, helping you stay on top of your cash flow. Quickly create invoices, review billing details, and send them to clients right from your phone. Whether you're on the jobsite or in a meeting, you can keep your invoicing accurate and timely without missing a beat.


Navigating to Invoices

Start by choosing a job for your Jobs List.

Next, tap More, then choose Client Invoices from the Financial features list.

 

✏️ Note: If you do not select a specific job from the Jobs List before navigating to Client Invoices, you’ll see the invoices from all your active jobs.


View, Add, and Edit Invoices

Adding a new Invoice

To add a new Invoice, tap the + icon, enter the necessary details, and tap Save when you're finished.

 

Invoice fields


  • Invoice # – Buildertrend will automatically assign a numerical value to this invoice, however you can create a custom Invoice # that aligns with your current numbering process.

  • Title – Explanation of the invoice to quickly identify the proper invoice.

  • Date Paid – The actual date the payment was received.

  • Use Line Items – If toggled on, you will be able to itemize all costs associated with the invoice with Line Items.

    • Show Line Items to Client – If toggled on, your client will see the Description, Quantity, Unit Price, and Total Price for each line item on the Invoice. Builder cost and markup will remain hidden, ensuring transparency without disclosing internal pricing.

  • Client Price If Use Line Items was toggled off, you can manually input an invoice total.

  • Tax If you'd like to include integrated Taxes, select a Tax Rate.

  • Line Items – Add itemized costs associated with the Bill by selecting Add Line Item.

  • Link To Toggle on to link the Invoice to a schedule item for dynamic scheduling.

  • Deadline & Time Set a specific date and time in which the Invoice must be paid.

  • Invoice Description – Add details about the invoiced costs.

  • Attachments – Take photos, scan documents, or upload supporting files related to the invoice.

 


View/Edit existing Invoices

To view and modify an existing invoice, tap on the Invoice, then select Edit to make your changes.


Releasing an Invoice

Once an Invoice has been created, you can release it to your client by tapping the Paper Airplane icon from the Invoice and selecting Release. You can then determine if you would like your client to be emailed the invoice or not.
