How to Clear Browser Cookies and Cache
What are Cookies and Cache?
Cookies and cache are small files stored by your browser to help websites load faster and remember your preferences.

Cookies store login information and site settings.

Cache saves images and data to reduce loading times.
Over time, this stored data can become outdated or corrupted, which may cause performance issues or prevent Buildertrend features from working properly.
Periodically clearing your cookies and cache can help resolve these problems by forcing your browser to load the latest version of the site, improving functionality and user experience.
Clearing Cookies & Cache | Google Chrome
To clear your cookies & cache in Google Chrome, begin by clicking the Settings (three dots) icon in the top-right corner and selecting Delete Browsing Data.
This will automatically take you to Privacy and security settings > Delete browsing data.
Ensure the following settings are selected, then click Clear data:

Set Time range to All time

Check Cookies and other site data

Check Cached images and files
Once you have cleared your cookies and cache, restart your browser and log back into Buildertrend.
Automatically Clear Cookies and Cache
💡Pro Tip
You can set Google Chrome to automatically clear cookies and cache each time you close the browser. This helps protect your privacy and can prevent issues caused by outdated or corrupted site data.
Begin by clicking the Settings (three dots) icon in the top-right corner and selecting Settings.
Navigate to Privacy and security and select Site settings.
Locate and expand the Additional content settings and select On-device site data.
Click Add next to Always delete site data from your device when you close Chrome, and input buildertrend.net in the popup, and click Add.
Google Chrome will now automatically clear all cookies and cache from Buildertrend every time your Chrome is closed!
Clear Cookies & Cache | Microsoft Edge
To clear your cookies & cache in Microsoft Edge, begin by clicking the Settings (three dots) icon in the top-right corner and selecting Delete Browsing Data.
This will automatically take you to Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data.
Ensure the following settings are selected, then click Clear now:

Click Choose what to clear every time you close the browser and toggle both Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files on.
Microsoft Edge will now automatically clear all cookies and cache every time the browser is closed!
Clear Cookies & Cache | Firefox
To clear your cookies & cache in Firefox, begin by clicking the Settings (three lines) icon in the top-right corner and selecting Settings.
Navigate to Privacy & Security and click Clear Data next to Cookies and Site Data.
Once you have cleared your cookies and cache, restart your browser and log back into Buildertrend.
Automatically Clear Cookies and Cache

You can set Firefox to automatically clear cookies and cache each time you close the browser. This helps protect your privacy and can prevent issues caused by outdated or corrupted site data.
From Settings > Privacy & Security, check the box to Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed.
Firefox will now automatically clear all cookies and cache every time the browser is closed!
Clear Cookies & Cache | Safari (on Mac)
To clear your cookies & cache in Safari (on macOS), begin by clicking Safari from your top navigation and selecting Settings.
From the Privacy tab, click Manage Website Data. From there, you can either Remove cookies and cache for individual websites or click Remove All to clear data for all sites.
