What is Buildertrend Wallet?
Buildertrend Wallet is an online banking service with free online checking, digital and physical debit cards for your team, and expense management tools integrated with your Buildertrend jobs, so your team can track spend to keep every job within budget. Using Buildertrend Wallet means no more reimbursements, end-of-month surprises, or unaccounted for charges, plus more rewards to grow your business.
Buildertrend is a technology company, not a bank. Buildertrend Wallet banking services are provided by Piermont Bank, member FDIC.
How does Buildertrend Wallet connect to my Buildertrend jobs?
Your Buildertrend Wallet transaction data connects with your Buildertrend jobs by API.

Security
Who holds my funds when they are in a Buildertrend Wallet?
Buildertrend Wallet works with sponsor bank Piermont Bank, member FDIC. Piermont Bank holds your funds.
Are my funds FDIC-insured*?
Yes, *The funds in your account are FDIC Insured up to $250,000. Deposits are held at Piermont Bank, Member FDIC.
What is Plaid?
Plaid allows you to securely connect your financial accounts with third-party apps. We allow customers to connect their other business bank accounts to the Buildertrend Wallet using Plaid. This helps to facilitate quick, easy transfers.
What does Buildertrend Wallet do to keep my account information safe?
Buildertrend Wallet requires every user to have a verified email and phone number. Your Wallet uses multi-factor authentication and automatic session timeout to protect user sessions and sensitive user data. You can adjust roles and permissions for every team member you invite to use your Wallet so that you restrict access to only the people you want to have access.

What do you need my SSN for?
We use your SSN to verify your identity during account creation. We are required to verify the identity of all beneficial owners at account opening.
My account was approved! Now what?
Congratulations! We’re excited to see your company gain complete control over spend management and expense tracking. To start taking advantage of all that your Buildertrend Wallet has to offer, login to invite your team and create your cards!
My application was denied. Now what?
If your Buildertrend Wallet application was declined, please contact support at wallet@buildertrend.com.

Transferring Funds
How do I add funds to my Buildertrend Wallet?
You can add funds to your Wallet by wire or ACH transfer from another bank account. Follow the prompts under “Move money” within your Wallet.
How quickly will funds hit my Buildertrend Wallet account?
Regular ACH processing time is typically 3-5 business days.
How do I transfer funds from my Wallet to another bank account?
You can transfer funds from your Wallet to another bank account by wire or ACH transfer. Follow the prompts under “Move money” within your Wallet.
Can I write a check from my Wallet balance?

Cards
How do I create a new card?
Click “Issue new card” on your homepage within your Wallet and follow the prompts to create a new physical or virtual card.
How do I set or adjust card limits?
You will be prompted to set a daily, weekly or monthly spend limit when you create a new card. To adjust the limits on an existing card, navigate to “Cards” and click the “Settings” gear next to the card for which you’d like to adjust the limit.
When, where and how will my debit card arrive?
Your physical debit card will arrive to the shipping address you specified when you created the card by USPS Priority Mail. Physical cards typically arrive within 5-7 business days. If you need a card for immediate use, virtual cards can be created and activated instantly within your Wallet for online purchases.
How do I activate my card?
Once you receive your physical card in the mail, follow the link in the card mailer to activate your new card and set a secure PIN. Virtual cards are activated automatically when they are created and don’t require a PIN.
What's a virtual card and how do I use it?
A virtual card is a unique, randomly generated card number associated with your account. Virtual cards can be created on-demand in your Buildertrend Wallet account to make secure online payments.
Why should I give my employees cards?
When you give your team proactive, controlled access to virtual or physical cards, you eliminate interruptions, expense claims, and reimbursements. Plus, with employee cards your business captures the value of cash back rewards on all business expenses.
How do I create or update my PIN?
You will be prompted to create a PIN when you activate your new card. To change your PIN on an active card, navigate to “Cards” and then click the “Settings” gear next to the card for which you’d like to change the PIN. Your PIN is an important security measure to protect the funds in your account; always be sure to set a unique PIN and do not share it with anyone.
Why doesn’t my virtual card require me to set a PIN?
Virtual cards can be used for online and contactless purchases, but not for contact-pay or to access ATMs. For these reasons, virtual cards do not require a secure PIN.
How can I view my virtual card number?
You can view your virtual card number by navigating to “Cards” and then clicking the eye icon on the far right to view your card details.
Where is my Buildertrend card accepted?
Your Buildertrend card is accepted anywhere (in-person or online) that accepts Mastercard.
What ATMs can I use with my Buildertrend card?
The physical cards are compatible with the Allpoint ATM network for free ATM withdrawals at more than 55,000 ATMs.

What happens if I don’t have a sufficient balance in my Wallet account?
Your transaction will be declined if you do not have a sufficient Wallet available balance to cover a purchase amount. To add funds to your Wallet, navigate to “Move money” within your Wallet.
There’s a charge I don’t recognize on my card. What should I do?
If there is a charge you don’t recognize on your card, it's a good idea to freeze your card, which you can do by navigating to “Cards” within your Wallet.

Is my money safe with a debit card?
Your account access is protected by multi-factor authentication; you can set spend limits on every card you issue and all debit card spend is PIN protected. It's best practice to set a secure PIN number and not share it with anyone.
If your card is lost or stolen, you can freeze or cancel it easily in your Wallet or by contacting support at wallet@buildertrend.com.
What happens if I lose my card?
If you or a member of your team loses a card, you should cancel the card immediately by logging into into your Wallet account and navigating to “Cards.” From there, you can click into the card details to freeze or cancel.
If you don’t have access to your Wallet account, contact support for help.
How do I dispute a charge?
If you notice a suspicious or incorrect charge on your account, contact support. A member of our team will assist you in submitting a dispute.

Expense Tracking
How does receipt information from the Wallet sync with QuickBooks?
Bills are sent to Quickbooks using the existing workflow. BT Wallet provides an easy way to collect receipts via text message and store them in the Cost Inbox. From there, you can quickly convert receipts into Bills. If your account is connected to QuickBooks, Bills may be sent to QuickBooks and marked as paid there. How does Buildertrend Wallet track my spend?
When a cardholder on your team makes a purchase with their Buildertrend debit card, they will receive a text message asking for a photo of the purchase receipt. They can reply via text with a photo and a job address to match that purchase to a job in Buildertrend. Admin and Bookkeeper roles will be able to see a detailed transaction history across all cards within the Wallet web app.
How does Buildertrend Wallet track my receipts?
You can turn on text message receipt collection within your Buildertrend Wallet account settings. When a cardholder on your team makes a purchase with their Buildertrend debit card, they will receive a text message asking for a photo of the purchase receipt. They can reply via text with a photo and a job address to match that purchase to a job in Buildertrend. Once collected, your team can process that receipt as a bill or expense in Buildertrend. The receipt image will also automatically match to the transaction record within your Wallet transactions feed.

Accounts
Where can I find my account details?
You can find account details like your account and routing number are available under “Account information” within your Wallet settings.
How can I check my Buildertrend Wallet account balance?
When logged into your account, you’ll see your account balance at the top of your homepage dashboard.
How do I add or remove team members?
You can add or remove team members through the “Team” tab in your Wallet account. All team members must be employees of your company to join your company’s Wallet account.
How can I update team roles and permissions in Buildertrend Wallet?
You’ll choose a role for each new team member when you invite them to join your account. If a team member is already part of your account, you can edit their role and permissions by navigating to the “Team” tab and clicking “Edit” to the far right of their name.
Can I see who made a transaction or a change to my account?
Coming soon! Only Admin user roles have access to make changes to your account. Soon you can opt-in to receive notifications about those changes.
How do I access my bank statement?
Bank statements are generated on the 2nd of each month showing detailed account activity for the previous month. Your bank statement is available to view or download within your Wallet: Statements > Search by year and month.
How do I access my bank letter?
Your bank letter is available for download in the “Statements”
section of your Wallet.
How do I close my account?
Contact support at wallet@buildertrend.com and a member of our team will assist you.

Rewards and Cashbacks
How can I earn cash back rewards with Buildertrend Wallet?
Buildertrend Wallet rewards are simple: earn unlimited 1% cash back on all purchases made with every Buildertrend Mastercard debit card issued to your team. Plus, earn up 5% cashback on eligible purchases up to $6,000 a month. No upfront investment, no jumping through hoops, no complicated rules or exceptions, just valuable time and money back to your business. Your cash back will be credited to your account automatically at the end of each month.
How can I collect cashbacks into my Wallet from Buildertrend Cashbacks & Discounts?
If you have already set up your Wallet account, eligible cashbacks will be instantly deposited into your account. No fret, we’ll update you prior to deposit so you know when to expect your funds. Once the funds are in your account, you can choose to transfer the money into your preferred bank account or keep it in your Wallet and make purchases with your debit card.

Pricing
What does it cost to use Buildertrend Wallet?
Buildertrend Wallet is free to use; there are no account minimums, service fees, card fees or interest charges.
How does Buildertrend Wallet make money?
When you spend on a Buildertrend Mastercard debit card, the card networks charge a fee to the merchant. We receive a percentage of that fee, known as interchange. Buildertrend Wallet only makes money from interchange and does not pass any fees onto you.
