We’ve revamped our sessions with new and improved lessons geared towards specific roles and skill levels. So, even if you’ve already graduated with your Buildertrend bachelor’s degree – now’s the time to come back and get your master’s.

What is Buildertrend University?

Buildertrend University is a two-day training conference held monthly at our headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.

Each day includes:

• Feature-based classes led by our product experts
• One-on-one sessions with Buildertrend coaches
• Networking opportunities with other construction pros
• Swag giveaways, happy hours and meals with our team

It’s a chance to get a deeper understanding of the Buildertrend platform and our Additional Services, as well as meet and learn from other builders facing the same challenges as you.

Who is Buildertrend University for?

In the past, we’ve always welcomed all our Buildertrend customers and their teams to attend. But starting in 2023, we changed up the structure of this event.

Now, each session is tailored to where you’re at in your Buildertrend journey and what your role is within your company. With this new focus, you’ll want to choose the right session that fits your needs so you can get the most out of your investment.

We offer five different sessions that we rotate monthly including:

• Starting Strong with Buildertrend: You’re a great fit if you’re brand new to Buildertrend, need help getting set up or want a better understanding of everything we offer. With our expert, in-person training, you’ll get started the right way from the get-go.
• Becoming a Buildertrend Super User: This session is for those who are already familiar with the platform but want to learn some more advanced skills. We cover the full functionality of the program, so you can see how everything works together.
• Level 1: Improved Estimates and Job Costing: This is for users who manage invoices and expenses for their company and need a better understanding of how our financial tools work.
• Level 1: Efficient Job Planning and Management: If you’re a project manager, want to be more efficient in the field or plan to use our project management tools, this one’s for you. We also dive into the financial tools you need for running a job from start to finish.
• CoConstruct Transition: If you’re currently – or were previously – a CoConstruct customer, we’ll help you transition smoothly and get comfortable with the Buildertrend platform.

You’re welcome to attend any of our sessions, but we highly suggest you select one that makes sense for your current needs and send the right person from your team. This ensures you’ll get the most out of your investment.

After you graduate from that session, feel free to move on up to the next one and continue honing your skills.

What’s on the agenda at Buildertrend University?

Each session is tailored to a specific set of features at a certain skill level and for a particular role within a construction company.

Depending on which session you choose to attend, you’ll learn how to use the tools needed for your position, as well as best practices and strategies to be successful in your role. All sessions will include feature-based classes, interactive workshops and one-on-one coaching.

Besides the classes, you’ll also get a tour of Buildertrend headquarters, a chance to meet our leadership team and the opportunity to network during meals and happy hours.

Meals included in your ticket are:

• Breakfast and coffee at Buildertrend both days
• Lunch at Buildertrend both days
• Unlimited snacks and beer available both days
• Dinner at a local restaurant on night one

What will I learn at Buildertrend University?

The lessons taught will be determined by the features and skill level relevant to their session. You’ll potentially learn:

• Initial account setup: Add your internal team members and your subs, set their permissions and notifications and start your first job.
• Templates: Save time by building templates for features you use on every project. You’ll start jobs faster when you have these in place.
• Project management best practices: Learn how to use the Schedule, Daily Logs and Tasks to your advantage.
• Effective job costing: Understand how to build a budget, track purchase orders and bills and keep your financials organized.
• Accurate estimating: Speed up your estimating process and improve accuracy with our tips and tricks. Also, get a look at our takeoff software for even better estimating.
• Smooth communication: Get your clients and subs involved by understanding how their personal portals work and get your team up to speed on best practices.
• Accounting integrations: We’ll show you how to get your QuickBooks account connected to Buildertrend, so your expenses are properly reported.

These are just a few of the areas our trainers focus on. We leave no stone unturned, so if there’s a feature you’re particularly interested in mastering, check out the class schedules and find the session that fits your needs.

What networking opportunities will there be?

We understand the power of networking for a business, so we give you plenty of time to meet other construction pros and our Buildertrend team members.

Breakfast and lunch are hosted both days, and these are great opportunities to chat with your fellow attendees. The interactive workshops between classes give you the chance to ask questions and learn from your peers.

But it’s not all so formal. We host daily happy hours and a group dinner party at a local hot spot so you can relax, reflect on the day’s teachings and just have a good time.

Tickets are $999 per person, including fees and taxes, and you can register online. Airfare and lodging are not included, but we do have a discounted block of rooms reserved at a boutique hotel in a trendy neighborhood.
