Builderbond brings builders together: Highlights from Nashville and what’s next
Buildertrend has always believed the best ideas come from builders. That’s what inspired Builderbond, a new series of regional Buildertrend events designed to bring builders together for honest conversations, practical learning and meaningful connections.
The inaugural Builderbond builder networking event kicked off in Nashville this June, bringing together builders, industry leaders and the Buildertrend team for two days of education, collaboration and conversations that continued long after the sessions ended.
What made the first Builderbond event different?
Builderbond wasn’t created to be another event filled with one-way presentations. It was designed to create space for builders to learn from one another, share what’s working and help shape the future of Buildertrend.
Throughout the event, every session centered on one idea: Operational discipline wins. Builders heard directly from industry experts, Buildertrend product leaders and fellow customers who are navigating many of the same challenges every day.
The Nashville event featured several standout experiences:
- An industry leadership discussion with Brad Leavitt, president of AFT Construction, and Charlotte Bradley, chief product officer at Buildertrend, focused on today’s construction landscape and how innovation helps builders stay ahead.
- A product innovation session led by Vinnie Morrissey, principal customer success manager at Buildertrend, and Kyle Murphy, principal product manager at Buildertrend, showcasing recent updates and a look at what’s coming next.
- A builder story spotlight featuring Michael and Danielle Gutelli, co-founders of Clark + Aldine, who shared how Buildertrend helped them strengthen their business while adapting to industry changes.
Every session reflected Buildertrend’s commitment to listening to builders and building products that evolve alongside the industry. That spirit carried into every conversation throughout the event.
Why was networking the biggest takeaway?
The presentations delivered valuable insights, but the conversations between sessions became the highlight of the event. Builders didn’t rush out when presentations ended. Instead, they stayed to exchange ideas, compare experiences and build relationships with peers who understand the day-to-day realities of running a construction business.
Attendees consistently pointed to the networking opportunities as one of the most valuable parts of Builderbond:
- 70% of survey respondents said networking was one of the most valuable parts of their experience.
- One builder shared they made three new builder connections that could help expand their business.
- Builders gathered during breaks, happy hour and meals to discuss hiring, operations, technology and growth.
- Live Nashville entertainment, local food and drinks created a relaxed environment where conversations continued naturally.
The survey responses reinforced just how valuable those conversations became. Builders highlighted networking opportunities during breaks before and after sessions, appreciated hearing from real users about the challenges they faced and how they moved forward and valued meeting new people in the industry while strengthening existing relationships.
Those conversations are exactly what Builderbond was built to encourage. When builders learn from builders, everyone leaves with ideas they can put into practice.
How did the builder panel bring the event full circle?
Builderbond concluded with an intimate brunch and builder-led panel that focused less on polished presentations and more on honest conversations. The discussion highlighted both successes and setbacks, giving attendees practical insights they could bring back to their own businesses.
The panel featured respected builders from across the industry, including Chanda and Billy of RJA Construction, Nick Baldo of Oakvale Homes & Development and Buildertrend Ambassador Brad Leavitt of AFT Construction. Together, they shared candid lessons on leadership, operational discipline, growth and adapting to change.
Rather than offering one-size-fits-all advice, the panel created another opportunity for peer-to-peer learning, ending the event the same way it began with builders helping builders.
Where is Builderbond headed next?
Nashville was just the beginning. Buildertrend already has two more Builderbond events planned for the end of July, giving builders another opportunity to connect with industry experts, Buildertrend leaders and fellow builders in their region.
We have two upcoming happy hour events: Join us in San Antonio on July 22 or attend San Diego on July 27.
These Buildertrend happy hours are free to attend and designed to help builders build stronger businesses through meaningful connections.
Here’s what you can expect at Builderbond events:
- Connect with fellow builders facing similar business challenges.
- Exchange ideas and learn from peers in the industry.
- Build lasting relationships within the builder community.
- Walk away with practical insights and fresh perspectives you can apply to your business.
Whether you’re looking to expand your home builder networking opportunities or strengthen your construction networking relationships, Builderbond offers an experience that’s focused on community, collaboration and continuous improvement.
