Home Depot

The Home Depot Cost Catalog pricing and product sync was retired on July 17, 2026. Existing Home Depot items will remain in your Cost Catalog but will no longer receive automatic pricing or product updates. The Home Depot receipt integration and other supported Home Depot functionality are not affected.

Why won't The Home Depot account I am signing in with work?

The integration will only work if you have a Pro Xtra account set up with The Home Depot. Sign up for your free account by clicking here.

Is there a fee for The Home Depot Pro Xtra Integration with Buildertrend?

No. It's a free integration.

Is The Home Depot integration available for Canadian clients?

Currently, it's only for US clients.

Can I still import Home Depot items to my Cost Catalog?

No. New Home Depot items can no longer be synced or imported into your Cost Catalog.

Any Home Depot items that were previously added will remain in your Cost Catalog and can be managed manually like other Cost Catalog items.

Does pricing for Home Depot items update automatically?

No. Home Depot pricing no longer updates automatically in Buildertrend.

Existing Home Depot items will retain their most recently synced pricing. To verify current pricing, select the information (i) icon on the item to open the linked product on The Home Depot's website.

Can I filter to view only The Home Depot items in my Cost Catalog?

No. Existing Home Depot items remain in the Cost Catalog but cannot be filtered by Home Depot specifically.

You can use the available keyword and cost code search options to find Cost Catalog items.

Is the Home Depot receipt integration affected?

No. The Home Depot receipt integration is not affected by the Cost Catalog integration retirement. Home Depot receipts will continue to sync to Buildertrend's Bill Inbox.

When I upload a receipt from The Home Depot and assign it to a job, does it automatically create a Bill?

No, it does not automatically create a Bill. A Bill can be created from the Receipt with the Receipt Details.

Are receipts automatically applied to the Budget?

No, a Bill must be created from the receipt for it to appear within the Budget.

Why aren't my receipts from before the integration showing up in Buildertrend?

Only receipts added on or after the day you have integrated Buildertrend with The Home Depot will be synced automatically. Any prior receipts can be uploaded in Receipts.

We have several project managers with a The Home Depot card, but all are on the same account. Will all of the receipts for the entire account be uploaded for all project managers?

Yes, since they are all tied to the same account, they will all be uploaded, and they will be able to see all of those receipts in your Buildertrend account.

How does this impact my QuickBooks integration?

The Home Depot integration has no direct impact on the QuickBooks integration.

Can I still use existing Home Depot items from my Cost Catalog?

Yes. Home Depot items that were previously added to your Cost Catalog remain available and can be used anywhere those Cost Catalog items are supported in Buildertrend.

How can I see which items have been pushed to the cart?

You are unable to see what items have been sent to the cart, however Buildertrend will not allow you to send the same item twice.

Will the price of a Home Depot item in Buildertrend match the current price at The Home Depot?

Not necessarily. Home Depot pricing no longer updates automatically in Buildertrend, so the price saved to an existing Cost Catalog item may differ from the current price at The Home Depot.

Use the information (i) icon on the item to open the linked product on The Home Depot's website and verify current pricing before using it.

Your final purchase price may also vary due to discounts, delivery fees, installation charges, warranties, accessories, or other costs applied at checkout.

Where can I use existing Home Depot Cost Catalog items in Buildertrend?

Existing Home Depot items can continue to be used in Buildertrend features where those Cost Catalog items are supported.

Gusto

Where do I setup the payroll period?

Payroll period is setup within Gusto.

How does the payroll period in Gusto impact Buildertrend?

Buildertrend follows Gusto's payroll period but doesn't affect it. Once integrated, a new filter in Buildertrend helps ensure you run payroll in the correct period.

Data is only sent within the selected payroll period, and you'll be alerted if any shifts fall outside that period.

Why do individual users in Buildertrend have to be authorized to send overtime shifts?

It is required by both platforms that Users must have proper permissions to access related data.

What if I accidentally create a Gusto account instead of linking?

You can cancel a Gusto account by logging in, navigating to Account Settings -> Plan & Billing -> Cancel Account.

Why can’t a user have multiple ‘jobs’ in Gusto?

Gusto Jobs have different pay rates. The integration requires that each user has a set pay rate.

I'm having trouble connecting to Gusto. What now?

Connection issues are likely due to incomplete onboarding in Gusto. Make sure the user status is marked as Synced and that the setup is fully completed. Go to the Team Members tab in Gusto to verify that all users are active.

Will deleting a shift in Gusto also delete it in Buildertrend?

No, the shift will only be deleted from Gusto. It will need to be manually deleted from Buildertrend as well.

What happens if I reset or delete a shift in Buildertrend?

Resetting or deleting a shift from Buildertrend will remove the shift from Gusto if the payroll period is still open. After payroll is run, the data must be fixed in Gusto and Buildertrend separately.

How do pay rates in Gusto impact rates in Buildertrend?

Buildertrend does not use Gusto’s payroll information. Shift hours are the only data that is transferred.

Can I use Quickbooks & Gusto Payroll?

Yes, you can continue to use both Gusto & Quickbooks. We recommend disconnecting users from the Accounting tab in the User Setup to avoid accidentally sending time clock data to Quickbooks.

Are we required to integrate Quickbooks and Gusto?

No, Gusto and QuickBooks are separate services, though they can share relevant information. If you integrate Gusto with QuickBooks, Gusto will automatically send payroll information to QuickBooks as a journal entry once payroll is processed.

Please note that Buildertrend does not integrate Gusto and QuickBooks. For integration details or support, contact Gusto directly.

Do cost codes on time shifts send over to Gusto?

No, there is no link between cost codes and Gusto.

Does overtime send over to Gusto?

Overtime must be set up in Gusto's employee wage type, and Buildertrend's Time Clock settings. Overtime will then calculate on the time shift data sent from Buildertrend.

Does PTO accrual send over to Gusto?

Yes, as long as PTO is enabled within Gusto.

Where does the time data go once it is in Gusto?

Buildertrend shift data will display once "Run Payroll" has been selected in Gusto.
