Live from BTU: Brown Haven Homes – Southern snow and continuous education | Episode 6
Brad Smith, purchasing manager, and Brittany Walker, executive assistant, of Brown Haven Homes – based in the South – join us on The Building Code podcast during Buildertrend University (BTU), our two-day user conference. We talk all things Brown Haven Homes history, future goals of the company, seeing snow, and so much more.
Founded in 2005, Brown Haven Homes started as a one-off custom home builder with one office. Over the years, it’s grown to offer over 25 floorplans with five multi-state offices, and more locations coming soon.
When it comes to Brown Haven Homes’ customer process, it’s nothing short of unique (and impressive). Their company offers something called “the price promise.” Brittany explains this as a guarantee – the price they quote during the initial meeting is the price that will stay true throughout the entire project. With many other companies, customers have to wait days or weeks before they truly know what price they will pay across the building process … but not with Brown Haven Homes. What you see is truly what you get.
We caught up with Brad and Brittany during our user conference, BTU, and their company actually has a unique experience when it comes to this event. Members of their team have attended BTU a staggering three times, which is more than most attendees. After their first BTU experience, Brown Haven Homes imported their purchase orders and process into their Buildertrend account and began tracking all job costs. They also learned more about our customer relationship management (CRM) system than they ever knew. The team’s thirst to continue learning about Buildertrend has brought them back twice more (and we’re willing to bet they’ll be back again).
We wrap up this episode with a guest appearance Buildertrend’s very own Joe Pietro, a senior manager of Customer Success, and a key player in BTU. Joe talks about his career path and what brought him to Buildertrend, his process of developing curriculum for BTU, and ends with a little rapid fire true or false session.
