Community Guidelines

All participants are expected to act in a professional manner. Your participation in the Community program is subject to these Community Guidelines.

Be respectful

  • Defamatory, libelous, indecent, offensive, vulgar, profane, sexually explicit, discriminatory, harassing, misleading, unlawful or threatening comments and/or actions or those that promote activities that appear illegal, unsafe, or dangerous are strictly prohibited.
  • Comments or actions that encourage or support violence, hate, or discrimination against others for any reason, including based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, gender, nationality, sexual orientation or gender identity are prohibited.
  • Content and materials you post or distribute must not violate or infringe the rights of any person or company, including intellectual property and other personal or proprietary rights.
  • Please be courteous, respectful and polite to fellow community members.
  • By posting content or materials you agree that the content or materials may be accessed, used, and shared by others within the community unless you state otherwise within the post.
  • You may submit Feedback to community@buildertrend.com or cbusacommunity@cbusa.us.

Be helpful and relevant

  • Submitted and shared content should be relevant and based on your honest opinions and experience, and you must comply with all applicable laws regarding reviews and endorsements, including those issued by the FTC and any other applicable regulatory agency, government body, professional association, or industry organization.
  • Staying on topic helps produce positive and productive discussions.
  • All content you post must be your own work.
  • Sustained disruption of discussion will not be tolerated.
  • When starting a discussion in our digital spaces, make the subject line clear, concise, and specific. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your post.
  • You agree not to post or distribute content that contains or links to viruses, malware, or other harmful components.

Protect privacy

  • Don’t post or share personal or proprietary information that you would not be comfortable sharing with a stranger.
  • Do not post or disclose any other person’s personal, private or identifying information.
  • You must not impersonate another person or entity (including creating multiple and/or fake accounts) or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with another user, person, or company.

Do not prospect or advertise

  • No marketing, spam, or self-promotion. Do not post or distribute content or materials that include advertising or other content that a third party paid or otherwise incentivized you to distribute.
  • Respect the purpose of the community. Use the community to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals instead of your or other’s products/services. If you’ve found a product or service helpful, please share your experience with the group in a respectful way.

Violations

  • We may, but are not required to, moderate posted content. We reserve the right to delete and edit comments at our discretion.
  • We reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary with respect to the activities of any participant or member who we believe is or may be violating these Community Guidelines. Such actions may range from giving someone a warning to revoking certain privileges or membership entirely.
